Do they need to wear uniform from The M.A shop?
They need to be dressed comfortably. The uniform is black trousers, ie, leggings, jogging bottoms etc and a black top. You can purchase an inexpensive uniform top or hooded jumper from our online shop. They need to be wearing comfortable shoes, Jazz shoes are recommended, if not trainers will be fine.
It is not compulsory to buy uniform with the Kids Rock or Teen Rock logo, but it is recommended. It makes the rockers feel part of a team especially when singing in groups and at the end of term showcase.
You can apply for a position at Kids Rock or Teen Rock by filling out our online application form. Places are limited to 15 in each group and it is a first come first serve basis.
The main reason for an applicant not to gain a place at either Kids Rock or Teen Rock is that the positions have already been filled. There is a limit to 15 children in each group. The Music Alchemist is always expanding and if your child does not make it,then they will automatically go on a waiting list and when a position comes available or the opening of a new school your child will be the first notified.
Kids Rock starts promptly at 10:00am - 12:15
Teen Rock starts promptly at 12:45 - 3:00pm
During classes they will be handed out lyrics, sheet music, cd’s, etc. They are to bring all handouts back to each session, as well as a pencil to take notes. They should also bring some water to keep them hydrated.
The children are supervised at all times. And each member of staff has had a CRB check.
The end of term Showcase is where the children are given the opportunity to show what they have learnt during the past term. Kids Rock and Teen Rock come together to put on a beautiful display of vocal harmonies and dance routines. Through out the term the children get into groups and choreograph their own performance to their favorite song, it is now time to show off their talent! Friends and Family are invited to watch and enjoy the show!
